The White Sabers are a Senior Drum Corps based in Dansville, New York.

History

The White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps was organized in 1928 under the sponsorship of the American Legion Daniel Goho Post #87 from Dansville, New York. The Corps later became independent as the White Sabers in 1957. In 1994, after about 14 years of absence from the activity, several former White Saber members organized an Alumni reunion. From there, an interest in performing was revived.

The Corps has members from all over Central & Western New York and Pennsylvania. We have members ranging from ages of 12 to 70 plus. Many of our current members belong to area high school bands such as Dansville, Wayland-Cohocton, Avoca, Marcus Whitman, Honeoye, Livonia, Wellsville and Athens, PA. Some of our members have marched in drum corps in the past such as the Binghamton Grenadiers, Empire Statesmen, New Horizon, Rochester Crusaders, Rochester Patriots, Watkins Glen Squires, Santa Clara Vanguard and of course the White Sabers. We also have members who have marched with the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.

The Corps is pleased to have a continued relationship with the S.T.O.R.M organization (Southern Tier Organization for Recreational Music) and the Ontario Council of the Arts. These sponsorships have helped us by advising and providing equipment to enhance our performance. We wish to thank them for their ongoing support.

The Corps plans to return to the competitive arena in 2005.

The Corps will compete in the Drum Corps Associates circuit.
