The Optimists (also known under the names: 18th Scout Troop; 157th Scout Troop Trumpet Band, Opti-Danforth, 'Green Machine') were a junior drum corps based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
History
1952 - Corps is founded.
1958 - Corps changes its name from Opti-Danforth to Optimists
1975 - Corps merges with the Seneca Princemen to become the Seneca Optimists.

John Wayne was named an honourary member of the Optimists.
