Use of this section

Current events displays newsworthy topics—even brief entries for those are very helpful. They have the advantage of already having a reference webpage, and would have been verified in most cases by the news media. --Sam King 11:05, 14 July 2006 (PDT)

In The News v.s. Current Events

Where should we put links to recent news stories in the drum corps world? --Sam King 14:14, 15 February 2006 (PST)

The "News Briefs" section on the main page is a good place to start for recent drum corps news. That can link somehow to listings in Current Events as well. "In the news" is for media mentions of drum corps by the mainstream press... say if the New York Times does a story on the Cadets.. a summary and link would be included in "In the news."

Current Events???

I don't understand this topic at all :-/ Roderick Stubbs, one of the founding directors of the Seattle Cascades passes away on May 20th, 2006. (drumcorpsplanet.com)?? This is no event in my opinion. There are only News Headlines in this cat. Any hints where to place real events? -- Artur Hennig 17:29, 9 July 2006 (PDT)

This section closely resembles a similar section on Wikipedia.org and is intended to list events in the media that have related articles in Drum Corps WIki. Events as articles can be added to Drum Corps WIki as separate articles. I am still working on how they should be named, probably we will adopt Wikipedia's way of doing it with the date in the name. Go ahead an add events as you see fit. Re-naming articles is easy to do later. --Sam King 11:04, 14 July 2006 (PDT)
