a type of ensemble created by DCA (Drum Corps Associates) for a 21 person ensemble with a stage as the performance space. Minicorps is part of the DCA Championships I&E events, and is defined as 7-21 people on stage with any combination of DCA-legal instrumentation.
- New corps have used this format to launch their competitive corps (examples include CorpsVets, Carolina Gold, Shenandoah Sound, Imperials, and others
- Competitive corps use this ensemble as a performance group both for competition and corporate/local events (examples include Frontier, Renegades, Minnesota Brass and others)
- Alumni corps have used this ensemble to meet the competitive desires of their members (examples include Erie Thunderbirds and Ghost Riders
- Mini-Corps Associates has estabished itself as an organization meant to further the mini-corps activity
