Erie Thunderbirds

The Erie Thunderbirds are a senior drum corps principally performing as a parade corps and a mini corps based in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

History

The corps was formed as a parade corps in 1956 as a parade corps under the name Thunderbirds.
The corps merged with the Shoreliners in 1968 to form the Erie Thunderbirds, a competitive corps performing field shows.
Members of the Red Carpet Association RCA 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1978.
In 1976 the Thunderbirds placed 8th in the Drum Corps Associates Championships
In 1979 the corps placed 8th in the DCA Championships.
In 1984 the corps became inactive.
In 1991 former members and other drum corps enthusiasts re-formed the corps.
1993 the corps returned to DCA competition as a mini corps in the first such DCA competition. The corps placed 1st.
