History

Eklipse

In 2002, after creating successful winter guard and winter percussion groups under the Eklipse name, Eklipse staff members collaborated to create a drum and bugle corps that would serve youth in and around southwestern Kentucky.

The corps first fielded in 2003 under the direction of Jason Shelby with the program Darkness at Noon. Monty Breneman drum majored. Other staff included Brad Deason, Stephan Ferguson, James Powell, Alan Emerson, Ellis Shelby, Matt Shelby and John Fannin. Brass instruments were provided by Murray State University and the Center Grove High School Marching Band. Uniforms were provided by the Murray High School Marching Band.

Due to low numbers of membership, Eklipse was forced to take the summer of 2004 off. The organization began to generate revenue off of its bingo hall in early 2004 which will pay for the future purchases of uniforms and brass instruments.

Eklipse was inactive as a drum corps in the 2005 season.
