All-girl

All-girl drum and bugle corps are those that restrict their marching membership to women only. They are called all-girl because they have almost always been junior corps. At this time (2006) there are no active junior all-girl corps and two senior all-girl corps, the Brainerd Ladies and the Emerald Grenadears Alumni.

During the 1960s and 1970s there were many corps of this type in North America and up to the early 1980s there was a separate competitive class for all girls corps in Drum Corps International and other circuits although these units often competed with co-ed units at smaller competitions.
