[edit] Notes from the year
- This year marked the return of famed music arranger Jay Bocook who returned to his position after a 3 year absence.
- This is the first year the Cadets marched with Euphoniums following the switch to B-flat instruments in 2000. They marched 6 of them and carried them like suitcases when at a trail.
- The original show design was a West Side Story show to follow the 1984 and 1994 West Side Story shows the Cadets did.
- Spring Training was held at Camp Cayuga near Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, PA
- The year was also notable for the "William Tell" encore piece composed by Gordon Henderson which borrowed musically from shows of years past. The piece is written for a brass quintet however the climax included a full corps rendition of "Moondance" from the Cadets 2001 program.
- The program included a baton twirler during the "Bouree" and "Living in the past" sections.
