[edit] History
Originally, the Preview began as a performance done at the Riverwalk Mall in San Antonio around 1994. In 2005, there were two performances in one day at the front of the Alamo and the La Villita Theater on the San Antonio Riverwalk. In 2006, the Preview was moved to its present location at the South steps of the Capital Building in Austin. The preview is sponsored by the Honorable Senator Todd Staples, Revolution Youth in Performing Arts and the Austin Stars Performing Arts Association.
[edit] Tradition
- Each corps plays its complete DCI or DCA competition show. For the general public, this is the first opportunity to preview the upcoming shows.
- At the end of every Preview since 2005, there is a combined performance of all the corps' hornlines playing "Texas, Our Texas" and "America The Beautiful".
