[edit] Lynne MacPherson

My name was Lynne MacPherson, now Stephens, my sister was Janet, she died in 1982. I became a member in 1952 or 1953 until around 1961. I was the second American in the Sarnia Lionettes, my sister was the My best friends were Dianne (Brain) Wilson of Sarnia and Ardith Smith. I started out playing the bugle but when they got the french bugle, I was the first one to use it. The Lionettes gave me so many wonderful memories and even with those HOT uniforms, I loved it. Dianne and I then helped start the Sarnia Y Westernairs, I was a drummer, Dianne was a marjorette! That sure wasn't the same and we quit after a year. I married and had a daughter, Robyn, whom I wanted to have the Drum Corp experience so I co-lead the Raiders in Port Huron with Jennifer Weirwein, that was a feeder corp for the Blue Water Buccaneers from Sarnia. Robyn become a member of the Buccanneers and I traveled with them for two years being amongst other things, the wardrobe person. I loved the Buccaneers...Stormin' Norm Campell, who was a top notch drummer and a great guy, Helen Campbell who made all our drum corps experiences go as smooth as possible, and their 4 terrific sons who were top-notch drummers also...David, in perticular was my favorite drummer! Steven was a DCI champion. The Buccaneers were about 90 strong with the most terrific bunch of kids and staff I've ever known. I hope they all did well in life...I will never forget any of you!!! Lynne (MacPherson),(Stephens), Dear, Port Huron, MI lynne4ya@sbcglobal.net
