Polish Falcon Cadets
From DrumCorpsWiki
Polish Falcon Cadets were a junior drum corps from Elizabeth, New Jersey.
[edit] History
- The corps was formed in 1930 under the sponsorship of the Polish War Veterans, Nest #126, of Elizabeth, New Jersey.[1]
- In 1977 the corps merged with the OLPH Ridgemen to become the Falcon Ridgemen.[2]
In the early-1970s, the Polish Falcon Cadets received a number of new members from the disbanded Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights which infused the corps with additional talent. By 1974, the Falcon Cadets were fielding a competitively small but incredibly competent horn line and drum line. The musicians' legend was cemented by the corps diabolical, relentless opening piece, "Flag of Stars," a Gordon Jacobs concert band piece arranged by Glenn Eng, an off the line whose audacity in terms of exposure to error and demands of overall musicianship from marching musicians has probably been rarely, if ever, equaled.
