Music City Legend are a Senior Drum Corps based in Nashville, Tennessee. They compete in the DCA Open Class division. MCL rehearses at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, a suburb of Nashville.

Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps (“MCL”) was founded in the summer of 2003 by Brent Unger and Scott Rhodes and became a reality with tremendous help from a small group of drum corps enthusiasts. In its first year, MCL competed as a mini-corps at the Drum Corps Associates (“DCA”) Championships in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on September 3, 2004, and placed 5th with a score of 86.5. There were 21 members in the corps. These 21 members are the Charter Members of MCL.

In 2005, MCL grew substantially and competed as a Class A corps throughout the season with approximately 60 members. MCL performed at competitions in Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. The corps placed 4th in Class A at the DCA Championships in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and captured the High Brass award.

In 2006, MCL ventured into open class competition, with around 75 members. MCL performed at competitions in Minnesota, Maryland, Kentucky, Georgia and New York. The corps placed 13th overall at the DCA Championships in Rochester, New York and qualified as a DCA voting member corps. The corps also notched its first victory in the I & E competition, with Scott McCoy taking first place in snare.
