[edit] Repertoire

Metamorphosis was a large compilation of Crossmen new and old, including:

  • Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed (the corps song),
  • The First Circle by Pat Metheny (a perennial Crossmen favorite),
  • Birdland by Maynard Ferguson (a perennial Crossmen favorite),
  • Symphonic Metamorphoses on Themes of Weber by Paul Hindemith (representing the "metamorphosis" of the corps as it made the transition to Texas),
  • Symphony in B-Flat by Paul Hindemeth (modern music),
  • The Crow by DJ Food (more modern music), and
  • P5 by Aaron Guidry (original music by the arranger).

[edit] Notes

In 2007, after 33 years of history on the East Coast, the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps was bought by Mark Chambers and Fred Morrison. The corps was relocated to San Antonio, Texas, making it the first and only World Class (then Division 1) drum and bugle corps in Texas. Metamorphosis was born - the first Texas-produced drum corps show. The summer of 2007 later would become recognized as a "transition year" for the Crossmen, making numerous changes and adjustments during the 1730 mile move, all the while preserving the corps' rich history and tradition.

The Crossmen moved in to Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio on May 25, 2007 to begin Spring Training. Tour commenced three weeks later, on June 16, with an exhibition show in Austin, Texas. Image:Horn arc.jpg
