Marching band
From DrumCorpsWiki
A marching band, is a large ensemble, similar to a concert band in instrumentation, but dedicated to marching in parades and at athletic events, such as football games. Some of the instruments featured in marching bands are designed specifically for the purpose of marching, such as the sousaphone. Some analysts regard drum and bugle corps as a sub-genre of marching band. Like drum corps, marching bands also present field shows and participate in competitions. Marching bands are commonly associated and funded by a particular high school, college or university.
