The Mini Corps Associates is a competitive circuit set up specifically for competitive mini-corps.

[edit] History

In late 2004, the management teams of the Erie Thunderbirds, Ghost Riders, Golden Eagles, Lambertville Volunteers and Mass Brass convened in Utica, New York to discuss the possibility of starting a mini corps circuit. The purpose of the meeting was to investigate ways to standardize best practices within the mini corps activity. Of particular note was the focus on gaining more specificity about the adjudication criteria used at competitive mini corps shows and possible ways to improve same. Standard operating issues facing all drum corps today were also reviewed. Since that time, there have been two more meetings, the most recent of which involved a representative of DCA. A positive and cooperative working relationship was forged between DCA and the nascent Mini Corps Associates (MCA) regarding advancement of this growing area of the drum and bugle corps activity.
