Field & Floor is a blog that features the opinions and criticisms of David G. Hill on "pageantry", which includes Drum Corps, Bands and Winter Guard, thus "field and floor". In particular David covers Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International, circuits in North America.

Originating as a printed 'zine in 1996, Field and Floor, according to Hill, "morphed into something else entirely" when he changed the medium and took the venture online in 2001. It moved to its current cyber address in 2004, taking its place among the new, and burgeoning, idiom called blogs.

Now, Hill explains, criticism remains part of Field and Floor's editorial content, "because any venture that goes unchecked is rife for problems. While the axiom: 'a wise skepticism is the first attribute of a good critic,' I now choose to dwell on excellence, to discover the concealed beauty and communicate to the world such things as are worth observation."
