Euphonium
From DrumCorpsWiki
The euphonium bugle takes its name from the upright brass instrument commonly seen in bands, and is basically a large-bore version of the bass-baritone bugle. It gathered popularity in the mid-1960s because of its fuller sound and more powerful dynamic range when compared to the bass-baritone.
The name "euphonium" is based on the Greek phrase for "pleasant sounding".
