ESPN2 (ESPN once was an abbreviation for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) debuted on October 1, 1993, as a sister station of ESPN available to cable subscribers only. Nicknamed "the deuce," ESPN2 was to be a network for a younger generation of sports fans featuring edgier graphics as well as extreme sports like motocross, snowboarding, and BMX racing. As of 2005, DCI has broadcasted it's championships via this network. The 2008 DCI Championships will not be broadcast by ESPN2.
