Lehigh Valley Chieftains, Inactive Senior Corps, Lehigh Valley, PA 1983 – 2000

The Chieftains were founded in 1983 as a parade and standstill group. They began competing in 1988 when they joined DCA. Highlights included three appearances at DCA Finals in 1993, 1998 & 1999. They were also the inaugural Class A Champions in 1997. The corps acted as hosts for the DCA Senior World Championships when they were held in Allentown from 1997 to 1999.

Although the corps was based in Allentown and the greater Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, they drew membership from all over New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

In 2000, the Chieftains withdrew from DCA events, but continued to appear in parades and concerts. A substantial part of their energies was devoted to forming and developing a new junior corps, the Lehigh Valley Knights.
