The Blackhawk/White Tornadoes are an inactive junior drum corps, based in Kankakee, Illinois. They were a brief merger of the White Tornadoes and the Blackhawks.

The Kankakee Blackhawks Junior Drum and Bugle Corps merged with the White Tornadoes of Momence (Illinois) shortly after the end of the 1972 season. Their repertoire included Blues in the Night, Penny Lane, Battle Hymn-When Johnny comes Marching medley, St Louis Blues. and Where or When. The corps performed throughout the Mid-West/Great Lakes area. Their season culminated with a tour to New Orleans for the VFW National Championship, where they placed 13th. The tour was completed with a competition in Rockford Illinois sponsored by the Phantom Regiment. The corps dropped the White Tornadoes name the following year placing 2nd at the Illinois State Championships held at the Springfield State Fair and 8th place at the VFW Nationals held at Soldiers Field, Chicago. The Kankakee Blackhawks were often referred to as the 'Little Green Machine' due not only to its staff relations to the Cavaliers but also because of its 'small but powerful' recognition. --Borntobugle 09:58, 6 June 2010 (PDT)
